For the beautiful sights outside Trapani, it is best to leave the A29 at the Segesta motorway junction. If you want to visit the wonderful salt marshes - Trapani's landmark - you have to follow the aforementioned feeder road (Raccordo Autostradale) to the Salt Museum. The way back is then somewhat different, since there are one-way streets regulation. The old town is also worth a visit. There is good parking along the picturesque Via Regina Elena.
