There are several car rental services located right at the airport. Important car rental companies such as Avis, Budget, Enterprise, and Alamo are present with a variety of car classes. For the off-beaten tracks and rough terrains, we recommend choosing an SUV or a 4x4, while a compact or an economy class car would be perfect for the smoother roads of the cities.

On the Road: Gas Stations and Routes

Ensure your tank is full before embarking on your Costa Rican adventure. There are several gas stations in and around Quepos, including Servicentro Quepos and the El Rey Gas Station for you to fuel up. An interesting driving route from the airport is the coastal road leading to Manuel Antonio National Park, famed for its rich biodiversity.

Climatic Cues and Currency

Tropical climate dominates Quepos, which means it is warm year-round with average temperatures hovering around 27°C (80°F). The currency here is the Costa Rican colón (CRC), however, US Dollars are widely accepted too. It's beneficial to carry a bit of both currencies, just to be safe.
