Information about Beirut Airport

The main terminal includes most of the duty-free shops, some other shops, a restaurant and lounges. The main terminal has four levels, including the ground floor, which includes the arrival area and a duty-free shop for arriving passengers next to the baggage claim area. The public area of the main terminal has the usual waiting areas, various cafés and restaurants. Level 2 has the departure area, security control and check-in. Level 3 contains the lounges of the individual airlines. There are also prayer rooms and a restaurant with a beautiful view of the runway. Level 4 is not accessible to the general public and passengers and is mainly used by airport offices.

The passenger terminal

The terminal at Beirut Airport consists of two buildings, the east and west wings, which are connected by the main terminal and form a U-shaped building. The modern terminal consists of 23 gates, 21 of which have direct access to the aircraft. With a few exceptions, smoking is prohibited in almost all areas of the terminal.

Services at the airport

The airport has all the typical facilities for travellers, including duty-free shops, cafés, restaurants, banks, post offices, prayer rooms and a tourist information centre. There is Wi-Fi throughout the airport, which is free for the first 30 minutes of use. The airport has three lounges for premium passengers, all located on the intermediate level of the main terminal, above the duty-free area in the departure area. There is also a café in the east and west wings of the departure area, right after passing through customs. Further restaurants and cafés are to be opened in the near future. The recently redesigned duty-free area has a large sales area, including two shops in the arrivals area. All purchases of passengers are exempt from the usual taxes and offer a good price and savings compared to the domestic price.

Transportation to and from Beirut Airport BEY

A taxi service is available at the airport. Certified taxis are waiting next to the terminal at the exit of the arrival area and can be identified by the airport logo on the side. As these taxes are regulated by the airport operator, they have a uniform and official rate. Regular taxis are also available, but their fare is subject to negotiation skills.
